Golden eyes glanced around at the moving shadows that surrounded the tiny coastal town. Hands thrust into the pockets of a red leather jacket, a small whistle escaping the lips of the Hawk demon. Chance had noticed the rain clouds before most others, thrusting an umbrella over his head and getting strange glances from everyone in the vicinity.
He sighed, the whistle and bounce in his step washing away with the rain, people running around trying to get out of the wetness. A whimpering noise caught his attention. He walked over to the edge of the beach that stretched for miles. A box in the corner of a dock made his feet move towards it, without trying to. He was a busy man! he didn't have time to be checking out whimpering boxes! But something in it called out to him, the whimpering continued, turning into a cry.
He began to run as the rain fell harder. He reached the box in a matter of moments. Blue hair caught his golden gaze. A small head poked up out of the box. The first thing the man did was take off his jacket and wrapped it around him, then he pulled him under his umbrella.
Once the boy's crying ceased, the golden-eyed man looked down into two very different colored eyes. "My my my, such a unique appearance. And what would your name be?"
"Mah??" The younger boy tilted his head to the side, as if not understanding what the older male had said.
A sigh escaped the hawk's lips. "I'm Chance. And you shall forever be the boy that reminds me of the rainy day from hell..."

There couldn't have been a worst place for the poor shadow demon to be. Miguel had been on a mission to gather supplies for the group he was currently traveling with. Coastal Darkness just happened to be the closest place. His dark hair was plastered to his head, clothing soaked all the way through. The scent of the rain assulted his nose, the sounds of the drops pounding the ground beneath him adding to the husstle and bussle noise. He sniffed, giving his head a shake.
Hands in his pants pocket, the blue eyed boy paused, hearing sounds different from the others. Who would still be out in this rain? The teen craned his neck to try to get a better look, only able to spot one blurred form.

The hawk demon was very upset about the wetness he felt. He knew he was bound to get sick if he stayed out in the rain too much longer, but he had to keep the "box child" warm and dry so that he didn't get wet as well. Damned kids.... He was utterly furious at the rain, debating whether or not to cuss out the sky. He decided against after a few minutes. After a few minutes, the demon shook his red hair free of water, at least as much of it as he could. He hated the rain.

There was someone out in this rain? Miguel paced a bit, not knowing if he should help whoever was down there. He was getting more soaked by the second. A little whine left him. Help? Or don't help? His conscience got the better of him. The shadow demon bounded down the beach, annoyed look cast at the sand getting into his shoes. He slowed as he reached the dock. He had deducted that the blur he had seen earlier was a man. And what was he holding? Miguel paused, not entirely sure if this was a good idea now. "Um.... e-excuse me?"

Golden eyes looked at the boy that had just asked. "Only strong enough to carry one brat... no more vacancies..." Jus then, Lucky popped his head out of the box making some strange sound that sounded halfway between a bark and a purr.

"Um....no. I mean, uh.....you're getting wet." Miguel blinked at the two. What was he doing with an obvious younger kid in the rain? The half shadow demon tilted his head to the side. He didn't realize that what he had just said was the most idiotic thing that could have come out of his mouth.

"No shit Sherlock. You figure that out all by yourself or did someone help you?" He asked. "Come on. Help me with this kid." Chance muttered as the child demon was now jumping around in the box trying to get a better view of Miguel.

Miguel slunk back. He was used to the snappy behavior of those he was constantly around, but it was still a shock and nervous moment to hear that tone of sarcasm. The half breed slunk forward, peering at the other demon in the box. Why was there a kid in a box? He didn't ask any questions, just waited for the next order or instruction to come.

"Take this side of the box. He obviously wants to see you!"
